The Olympics are a transitory phenomenon - a short-lived occurrence imposing castle-like structures and stretching Time over a period of three weeks with an almost infinite collection of mediatic loops. But the legacy of this transitory state is permanent on the cityscape while its mediatic and political culminations will be repeated in four years time somewhere else. The Games do not belong to any nationstates. They amplify power. They boost the flux. The stadium is an ellipse of power and its body a gigantic coil. It is as if the Temple was rebuilt every four years since its last destruction in 70 AD.
There is also a profound difficulty in voicing any discontent or noise around the Zone of Influence carved out by the heavily securitised Temple -  you could be hexed.

On the 4th July from 1am to 12pm as part of Act 0 of the Moving Forest 2012  a  audio broadcast , scored and assembled using the  *¬A algorithm and a lost river, will conjure prophecies and omens unleashed by the 2012 Olympics, by the financial crisis, by the London riots, by Occupy, by Classe in Quebec, divining where, when and how the forests might move, and what noise they will make.

From 9am to 11am, the Hexists will converge to follow the path of the lost Hackney Brook, now a sewer, from the Arsenal Emirates Stadium to the Olympic stadium.  On their trajectory towards the 'Castle' the Hexists  will consult the Oracle  (the Algorithm in the Resonance FM studio) by phone,
transmitting forecasts via a radio broadcast of the future. Simultaneously John Wild will divine the electromagnetic data from the invisible banks of this underground river, creating a Twitter Data Stream that will be sonified by The ” ¬A “.

*The algorithm  (The ” ¬A “ ) is written by Thibault Autheman for the production of emergent acoustic phenomena using dice.
